Right this very second I should be packing for a quick trip up north for some much needed R & R, but instead I'm working on a few projects that I just can't seem to get off the brain (and why should I, they're all just a month or two away!). But anyway, we're taking off tomorrow morning and meeting family and friends in Victoria B.C. Any trip to Canada in the past was usually one involving camping and subsequently gutting fish by a campfire. This time we're staying closer to the border and civilization. Do any of you recommend places for me to eat/drink/shop and or see? I'd love to hear!

I went to Victoria a few years ago and I loved it there. I don't remember any of the names of shops specifically, but the shopping is so good! Have a great trip.

ReplyDeleteIf you don't do high tea at the Empress (which I find over rated), there is a little tea house just down the street. Its very busy (at least it was when we were there) they use actual silver tea sets, and the sweets were delightful! Also, look out of the coffee shop with the Orthodox icons and the vintage espresso machines. You will swoon! If you walk about 12-15 blocks away from the centre waterfront, you will find an ancient cemetery next to a gorgeous Victorian church.... Have an amazing time! PS stay away from any Asian restaurants, we had pretty bad luck.
